What is Ultracet?

Ultracet helps treat moderate to severe pain.  It contains two drugs: tramadol and acetaminophen. Tramadol is related to a class of drugs called opiate (narcotic) analgesics. It changes how your body feels and responds to pain by acting on the brain. Acetaminophen helps relieve pain, and it can also reduce fever. You can order Ultracet online at discounted prices from a trusted website.

Important Information

Ultracet misuse can cause addiction, overdose, or death. Keep it out of reach of others.

If you have severe breathing issues, a blockage in your stomach or intestines, or if you have recently used an MAO inhibitor, you should not take Ultracet.

Do not give Ultracet to anyone under the age of 12 or anyone under the age of 18 who has recently had surgery to remove their tonsils or adenoids.

Taking Ultracet while pregnant can result in life-threatening withdrawal symptoms in the newborn.

If you combine this medication with alcohol or other drugs that cause drowsiness or slow your breathing, fatal side effects may occur.

What to know before taking Ultracet?

Do not use Ultracet if you are allergic to tramadol (Ultram) or acetaminophen (Tylenol), or if you have:

  • a blockage in your stomach or intestines
  • if you have used MAO inhibitors (such as isocarboxazid, linezolid, phenelzine, rasagiline, selegiline, tranylcypromine) in the past 14 days
  • severe asthma or breathing problems

To ensure that Ultracet is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have ever had:

  • problems with your pancreas, gallbladder, or thyroid
  • liver disease, or if you drink alcohol
  • mental illness, depression, or a suicide attempt
  • kidney disease, urination problems

Ultracet is not for use by children under the age of 12.

Do not give Ultracet to anyone under the age of 12 or anyone under the age of 18 who has recently had surgery to remove their tonsils or adenoids.

Seizures have occurred in some tramadol users. You are at high risk to have a seizure if you have ever had:

  • breathing difficulties, sleep apnea
  • addiction to alcohol or drugs
  • brain tumor, a head injury, or seizures
  • if you have recently used tranquilizers, sedatives, or narcotic medications
  • a metabolic disorder

If you take Ultracet while pregnant, your baby may become addicted to tramadol. This can result in fatal withdrawal symptoms in the baby after it is born. Babies who are born dependent on habit-forming medicine may require medical attention for several weeks.

If you are breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking any opioid medication. Inform your doctor if you notice the nursing baby is drowsy or breathing slowly.

How to take Ultracet?

Take Ultracet by mouth as prescribed by your doctor, usually every 4 to 6 hours for pain relief. You can take this medication with or without food. If you have nausea, taking this medication with food may help. Never take this medication in larger doses or for a longer period of time than prescribed. You must inform your doctor if you have an increased desire to take more of this medication.

The dosage depends on your medical condition and response to treatment. The maximum recommended daily dose is 8 tablets. Do not increase your dose, take it more frequently, or take it for a longer period of time than prescribed. Take this medication no more than 5 days in a row.

Stopping this medication abruptly may cause withdrawal symptoms, especially if you have been taking it for a long time or in high doses.

Ultracet dosage

Adult Dose of Ultracet for Pain:

The usual dose is 2 tablets orally every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain.

The maximum daily dose is 8 tablets and the maximum duration is 5 days.

Overdose

An overdose can be deadly, especially in a child or someone who is taking this medication without a prescription. Overdose symptoms include pinpoint pupils, severe drowsiness, slow breathing, or no breathing.

Your doctor may advise you to obtain naloxone (a medication used to reverse an opioid overdose) and keep it with you at all times. If you stop breathing or do not wake up, someone who is caring for you can administer naloxone. Your caregiver must still seek emergency medical assistance and may need to perform CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) on you while waiting for help.

What to avoid while using Ultracet?

Do not drink alcohol during treatment with Ultracet. Dangerous side effects or death could occur.

Avoid operating machinery or driving any vehicle until you know how Ultracet will affect you. Falls or other accidents can occur as a result of dizziness or severe drowsiness.

Before taking any other medication that may contain acetaminophen, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Taking certain medications at the same time can result in a fatal overdose.
